What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manual Machinist position at PG&H Engineering, Inc.?
JOB OBJECTIVE: To operate a variety of machinery equipment in a safe and productive manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Seeking a skilled Manual Machinist that can run a horizontal lathe and a horizontal mill. The individual must be able to read and understand prints and sketches which contain standard symbols and dimensions. Must be able to touch off tools, set locations, change offsets, and pick tooling for jobs as needed. Must be able to read and understand metrology equipment (ie: Micrometers, Calipers, Indicators, etc.).
NON-ESSENTIAL (OTHER) JOB FUNCTIONS: Experienced in basic welding techniques.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION – Minimum of G.E.D Certificate
- English is required, bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- EXPERIENCE – Minimum of five years experience manual machining, CNC experience is beneficial.
- LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS – Have attended and completed an apprenticeship program as a machinist (helpful but not mandatory).
- TOOL REQUIREMENT – Must have own tools consistent with those needed and used by a machinist.
