Job Summary:
The Cultivation Manager is the hands-on operational leader of the building, responsible for the daily execution of all cultivation processes. This role works directly with cultivation staff to maintain plant health, yields, and operational flow, acting as the on-the-ground extension of the Building Operations Manager. The Cultivation Manager ensures directives are executed efficiently and consistently across all phases of cultivation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead day-to-day cultivation activities including IPM, fertigation, harvest, and facility upkeep.
· Supervise cultivation staff and ensure SOPs are followed consistently.
· Serve as the on-the-floor leader — present in the grow rooms daily to monitor progress and resolve issues.
· Report daily operational status and issues to the Building Operations Manager.
· Partner with the Director of Operations – Cultivation to ensure labor efficiency standards are met.
· Train staff on proper cultivation techniques and ensure execution meets company standards.
· Identify issues early (plant health, labor, equipment) and escalate to Building Operations Manager.
o Performance Metrics include:
§ Execution of daily/weekly cultivation tasks on schedule.
§ Plant health and room consistency.
§ SOP adherence at ground level.
§ Staff productivity and performance.
§ Responsiveness to issues and escalation accuracy.
Required Skills and Abilities:
· Strong knowledge of cannabis cultivation techniques, including IPM, fertigation, pruning, and harvesting.
· Proven ability to supervise and mentor cultivation staff.
· Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify plant health and facility issues early.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to escalate issues appropriately.
· Ability to foster teamwork and accountability among cultivation staff.
· Familiarity with compliance and seed-to-sale tracking systems (e.g., METRC).
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agriculture, or related field preferred.
· Minimum of 3 years of cannabis cultivation experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
· Demonstrated experience executing cultivation SOPs at scale.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working in cultivation environments.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
· Exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and lighting conditions.
Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
