Department Overview
Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E’s gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.
Position Summary
Responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation and logistical support of planned and emergency pipeline outages to maintain uninterrupted gas service during these outages by utilizing portable natural gas assets. Additionally responsible for seasonal coordination, implementation and logistical support for Peak Shaving applications as required system wide by utilizing portable natural gas assets.
This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Minimum Base Salary (California) $93,000.00
Mid Base Salary (California) $116,000.00
Maximum Base Salary (California) $139,000.00
Job Responsibilities
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Modifications to equipment and processes occur quite frequently so the expectation is that this position will assist in the development and implementation those improvements.
CUSTOMER INTERFACE AND SUPPORT: Interfaces directly with customers to ensure safe and proper siting of the portable equipment.
FIELD REVIEW OF INJECTION POINTS: Works with the project manager, local planners, M&O department, land agent, engineering, energy Sales & service representative, customer impact representatives for the initial site review and scope development for a planned outage response.
PRE-PLANNING JOB REVIEWS: Gathers information for upcoming outages. Learning the scope of the outage, determines what taps will be affected, the usage at each of these taps, and what type of equipment should be used. Schedules the equipment and operators to ensure coordination with the pipeline outage schedule.
SYSTEMWIDE RESPONSE DEVELOPMENT: Serves as the system-wide first point of contact for planned outages and emergency responses and peak shaving response.
OPERATIONS: Plans, executes, monitors, manages, de-mobilizes assigned projects Execute operations for all products and services as assigned. DOT-Emergency Response Only
Must be willing to travel up to 50% within PG&E’s service territory.
Qualifications
Minimum:
High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
2 years of job related experience
CA Class C License, or equivalent
Desired:
Bachelors Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
Experience in project management
