What are the responsibilities and job description for the PFNonwovens Slitter Lead (9pm- 9am) - $25.00hr -$27.00hr position at PFNonwovens LLC?
Purpose and role of job:
The role requires strong leadership and team motivation to uphold quality standards in production. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting and training crew members across various slitter operations. Effective communication and a proactive approach to safety and cleanliness are essential for maintaining efficiency. Additionally, the individual will focus on continuous improvement and adherence to work instructions.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
• Motivate and lead by maintaining positive morale
• Demonstrated proficiency on mainline and slitter areas
• Advanced operations and troubleshooting at the Corematic, Slitter, and Packaging system
• Advanced operations and troubleshooting the mainline
• Maintains quality standards for the product. Follows up on QW regularly throughout the shift, inspects work orders for accuracy and continuous improvement on daily
packet scores.
• Ensure all orphan rolls are accounted for by the end of the shift
• Keeps the machine and the surrounding area clean
• Follow instructions of the Production Manager, Process Engineer, Superintendent and PE tech
• Train and develop crew to advance through pay for skills/performance in a timely manner. Keep up with crew training rotations between Mainline, Slitter and Packaging
area
• Coordinate all downs safely & effectively
• Take a proactive approach in all production aspects including raw materials
• Ensure clear communication between oncoming and off-going shifts
• Provide guidance and structure to the team
• Attending GEMBA daily
• Reviews work instructions for accuracy and notify Production Manager if changes need to be made
• Change out cross-cut wires and counter knife blades
• Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.
Education and experience requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of all required training and assessments
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate orally and written
• Ability to work in a team orientated environment
• Demonstrated leadership abilities required
• Previous manufacturing/distribution center/industrial experience preferred
• Proven ability for applied learning required
• Prior computer experience preferred
• Work instructions and LMS completed and up to date
Work Environment:
Noisy environment requiring hearing protection; manufacturing environment requiring
Physical Requirements:
· Walk/stand 100% of the time during a 12-hour shift.
· Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling and squatting throughout shift.
· Occasional climbing and reaching into machines to fix jams.
· Occasionally reaching overhead during shift.
· Frequent pushing and pulling with arms and legs throughout shift, including materials requiring up to 75lbs of force to maneuver.
· Frequent lifting or carrying up to 50lbs.
· Constant use of hands and occasional use of foot control.
· Constant light and firm grasping with hands throughout shift.
· Operation of cranes, hoists, hand trucks and roll manipulators throughout shift.
· Daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area.
· Occasional climbing of steps.
· Balance required for some tasks.
