If so, The Pfister is looking for a Pastry Cook II to be a part of our team and continue its iconic legacy.

As a Pastry Cook II at The Pfister Hotel, you will be responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting a wide variety of pastries, breads, desserts, and specialty items. You will follow recipes, maintain quality control, and ensure consistency in production and presentation while working in collaboration with the Executive Pastry Chef and Sous Chefs. This intermediate-level position requires prior pastry experience and offers the opportunity to advance your skills in a high-volume, Four Diamond pastry kitchen.

· Prepare pastries, breads, desserts, sauces, and other items according to standard recipes and guest expectations.

· Monitor product storage, portion sizes, and rotation to ensure freshness and compliance with standards.

· Set up and break down stations with necessary prep, equipment, and ingredients.

· Maintain cleanliness and organization of pastry work areas, tools, and equipment in compliance with Health Department guidelines.

· Assist with large-scale banquet functions and special pastry projects.

· Train and guide junior pastry staff as directed by Chefs.

· Ensure pastry quality, consistency, and presentation meet Four Diamond standards.

· Perform general cleaning tasks and other duties as assigned by the Executive Pastry Chef or Sous Chefs.

· 2–3 years of pastry or baking experience required, preferably in a hotel, resort, or high-end restaurant/bakery.

· Formal culinary or pastry training strongly preferred (degree or certification).

· High school diploma or GED required.

· Knowledge of pastry techniques, scaling, mise en place, and knife handling.

· Proficiency with pastry and bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, and scales.

· Ability to stand for long periods, work under pressure, and tolerate varied temperature ranges.

· Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds.

· Strong English language comprehension required.

· Must adhere to Local 122 Collective Bargaining Agreement regulations, with the option to obtain union membership after 90 days of employment.

Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly

Pay Rate: $19.52 per hour
