POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for repairing and maintaining plant equipment, building structure and fixtures.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Repair and maintain plant equipment, physical structures and fixtures
- Inspect machinery and equipment
- Make machinery and building repairs and modifications
- Read blueprints, drawing manuals or specifications
- Operate and repair plant support equipment
- Handle repairs and coordinate with contractors
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs
- Assist production and/or shipping when no other maintenance activities can be performed or when assistance is needed due to high demand or urgent jobs
- Accurately complete daily records
- Operate forklift
- Carry out physical demands of the job
- Meet all safety requirements and regulations
- Ensure safe equipment operation
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ensure a clean and orderly work environment
- Develop a flexible approach to a team environment
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Other work as assigned by supervisor
- Assist in new employee training

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12 Education
- Experience operating a forklift & working in a production/manufacturing environment
- 5 years maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
