Responsible for assessing, acquiring and moving materials in support of the district needs. Ensure quality and productivity goals and standards are achieved.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory district orders and shipping/receiving processes
- Assign duties to the shipping and receiving clerks and assure completion
- Monitor product movement along with all appropriate paperwork
- Confers with others to coordinate activities between departments as necessary
- Perform tasks to ensure accurate and timely transactions
- Recommends improvements to production methods, procedures, equipment performance and work practices to management
- Daily warehouse facility inspections
- Ensure compliance within the facility as it relates to quality, productivity, safety and security
- Demonstrates methods and trains employees in tasks or equipment operation
- Operate loading and unloading equipment, hoists and other specialized material handling equipment.
- Operate loaders and other equipment to transport materials to and from transportation vehicles and loading docks and to store and retrieve materials in warehouses
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, not required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a warehouse environment, or equivalent skill and knowledge
- Basic education, reading, writing and math skills needed to perform responsibilities.
- Sensitive to confidential information.
- Must work independently and as a member of team.
- Able to read, speak and write English.
- Strong physical and mental health to maintain demanding workload.
- Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
- Communication – verbal and written communication.
- Seeing - able to see details.
- Climbing - able to go up, down and over equipment in a safe manner using good judgment and proper safety equipment as is required.
- Position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week with frequent overtime demands based on the workload requirements.
