Position Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Shipping Manager / Buyer to oversee purchasing, shipping, and logistics operations for our company. This role is responsible for procuring essential materials including metal fabrication components, glass, raw materials, and office supplies, while also managing all outbound and inbound shipping logistics.
- The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating deliveries, LTL shipments, and full truckloads, ensuring all orders are accurately processed, weighed, measured, scheduled, and delivered on time. This position requires precision, strong time-management skills, and the ability to manage multiple orders daily in a fast-paced environment.
- On average, this role manages 2–8 shipments per day, requiring close attention to detail and consistent communication with vendors, carriers, and internal teams.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, purchasing, buying, or supply chain operations
- Experience managing LTL, truckload, and delivery logistics
- Experience purchasing industrial materials such as metal fabrication supplies, glass, or construction/manufacturing materials
- Strong understanding of freight scheduling, shipping documentation, and carrier coordination
- Excellent attention to detail with strong accuracy in measurements, weights, and scheduling
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with ERP, inventory, or purchasing systems preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication and vendor management skills
