RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve facility Quality Assurance manual; perform responsibilities as the plant Management Representative for the ISO9100 quality system; organize and document management review meetings; manage and direct internal audits of quality system and report on Quality System performance to top management.
- Direct quality control objectives and ensure that products produced meet required standards.
- Oversee and ensure testing, source inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection of product.
- Direct in-plant control of non-conforming product including quarantine of product not meeting quality requirements.
- Oversee internal and external corrective action processes and ensure that corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
- Respond to customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with departmental managers to ensure appropriate, required, and accurate collection, retention, storage, and control of quality system documents and records.
- Actively participate in APQP process to review and provide input to new part feasibility as it pertains to quality and manufacturability.
- Ensure that first article inspection, PPAP, and other pre-production qualifications are submitted per customer requirements.
- Develop and champion plant SPC program.
- Has independent authority, responsibility, and access to top management to resolve quality management issues.
- Performs other accountabilities as assigned.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Lead safety training programs for employees, including emergency response, PPE usage, and safe work practices.
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, prepare reports, and implement preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate safety records and documentation as required by law and company policy.
- Collaborate with department managers to integrate safety practices into daily operations.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Responsibility for Work of Others
- Direct supervisory responsibility over Quality Supervisor, Quality Inspectors, and Safety personnel.
- Direct temporary employees and other department employees assigned to quality or safety-related assignments.
- Work closely with other department managers, supervisors, and employees to ensure customer, quality, and safety policy requirements are being adhered to.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Safety Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance and safety management within a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO9100 Quality Management System and ISO standards.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety compliance requirements.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, SPC, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
