HEAT TREAT OPERATOR
DESCRIPTION:
Perform heat treatment operations in accordance to the needs of the production facility. This is a temp-to-hire position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Ability to move parts on and off pallets
Must be able to interpret and carry out work instructions according to product being processed
Loads and unloads furnaces in accordance with operating procedural documentation
Ensures charged component details are correctly entered on production documentation and charts
Monitors alarm conditions and regularly inspects equipment for gas leaks, temperature discrepancies, water leaks, burner faults and optimal mechanical soundness and report equipment malfunctions to heat treat supervisor immediately
Operates crane to transport products between different areas
Operates lift truck and pallet truck
Observes pre-programmed controls and verifies heat treat program is heating correctly and adjust controls accordingly if necessary
Maintains the correct sequencing of ignition process for furnaces
Accurately and efficiently uses computer to start and key out jobs- correctly reporting Heat Treatment of product
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Monitors operations to include: monitoring production sequences, observing ovens for proper functioning, and responding immediately to developing situations to preserve machine and part integrity
Performs and/or verifies completion of first-article and in-process inspection on all jobs and indicates such on production documentation
Reviews quality issues with quality assurance, manufacturing support, and engineering to resolve quality issues and takes corrective actions as required
Ensures performance goals are established and met for scrap/rework, labor efficiencies, and on time deliveries
Interacts and supports a broad spectrum of personnel internal and external to the company. Works effectively and efficiently in both team-based and independent working environments to reduce costs and add value to the organization
Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions;
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Complies with internal and external quality, safety, environment and corporate standards
Operates and monitors water treatment
