POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Product Manager roleserves as a support position to the Director, Cat. Assistant Product Managers work to learn and intimately understand the fundamentals of product management behind the scenes while gaining exposure and experience in Product Management. Responsibilities center around sample management, tracking documentation, presentation and planogram creation as well as product set up tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works to support Director in development initiatives for given business segment.
- Responsible for maintaining tracking tools accuracy and updates: includes product assortment plans, milestone and development trackers.
- Initiate, Proof, document and release development specs to Asia/US teams for development. Update with sample comments and relevant communication as directed by Management.
- Communication with Operations team on product issues surrounding sampling, design and production.
- Set up physical and digital product planograms.
- Participates in seasonal internal and external line review process as directed.
- Lead the creation of packaging design requests to get all products line review ready as well as presentation assets finalized. Applies to line reviews, tradeshows & customer meetings.
- Urgently finalize product manufacturing specs and handoff sheets once commitments from customers are communicated. Includes preparation for formal hand-off meeting to the Operations team.
- Responsible for PD areas of workspaces & warehouse to ensure these areas are presentable, organized and accessible.
- Maintain data integrity within database systems of all currently shipping products.
- Manage meticulous file naming, accurate & complete content for all PD & Ops databases.
Qualifications:
- Ability to stand, reach, bend and comfortably lift up to 30lbs often
- Impeccable positive attitude and consistent sense of urgency
- Interest in product management and desire to contribute to a growing business
- Passionate about animals and their wellbeing
- Ability to strengthen organizational systems in the warehouse
- Motivation to maintain meticulous records and filing systems
- 2 years’ experience in consumer product company preferred
- Intermediate computer skill level including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
- Must possess superior attention to detail, accuracy and tenacity
- Experience in project coordination and working with all levels of an organization professionally
- Desire to learn and grow within the department, company, and industry
- Experience with data analysis and costing a plus; a desire to learn these skills is essential
- Hybrid with 3 days in office; flexibility to work up to 5 days in office occasionally
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $37.00 per hour
