What Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians Do
- Triage patients and obtain thorough medical histories, vital signs, and patient assessments
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and dental procedures
- Provide compassionate, credentialed nursing care from patient intake through discharge
- Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and diagnostic sample collection
- Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs
- Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for reference laboratories
- Prepare patients and equipment for surgical and dental procedures
- Induce and monitor anesthesia while maintaining complete and accurate records
- Provide attentive nursing care throughout patient recovery
- Educate clients regarding preventive care, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation
- Keep treatment, surgical, and exam areas clean, organized, and well stocked
- Collaborate with veterinarians and support staff to provide exceptional patient care and client service
What You'll Bring
- Current LVT, CVT, or RVT credential in good standing—required
- Eligibility to practice as a credentialed Veterinary Technician in Hawaii
- Previous hands-on experience in a veterinary hospital
- Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills
- Confidence with patient handling, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory procedures
- Experience with anesthesia induction and monitoring, surgery, dentistry, radiology, and nursing care
- Strong client-education and communication abilities
- Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to maintaining professional credentials and continuing education
