This role will report directly to plant leadership and play a key role in achieving operational excellence.
Position Overview
The Quality Manager will lead all quality functions within the facility, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, internal quality standards, and industry regulations. The successful candidate will oversee quality systems, customer quality performance, supplier quality initiatives, problem-solving activities, and continuous improvement efforts while developing and mentoring the quality team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Quality Department, including Quality Engineers, Technicians, and Auditors
- Serve as the primary escalation point for customer quality concerns and critical issues
- Establish and maintain quality systems, policies, procedures, and performance metrics
- Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead customer, supplier, and internal quality audits
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and company standards
- Oversee PPAP submissions, FMEAs, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and 8D corrective action processes
- Analyze quality performance metrics and implement strategies to reduce defects, scrap, and warranty concerns
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Leadership teams to improve overall manufacturing performance
- Lead quality planning activities for new product launches and process changes
- Manage quality costs and drive measurable improvements in customer satisfaction
- Maintain authority to stop production or shipment when quality concerns are identified
- Support annual business planning and strategic quality initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field preferred
- 7 years of progressive quality experience within automotive manufacturing
- 3 years of leadership experience managing quality teams
- Strong understanding of: IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, 8D Problem Solving
- Proven experience leading customer-facing quality initiatives
