Plant Builder — Water & Wastewater Treatment Construction

We specialize in public works, water resources (including water and wastewater treatment plants), and site development, with expertise in underground utilities, roadway construction, and related civil infrastructure.
We are seeking an experienced Plant Builder to join our Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) construction team. This position supports the construction of treatment facilities and related infrastructure through process piping, structural concrete, mechanical installation, and general heavy civil construction.

What You'll Do
Plant Construction
- Assist with the layout, assembly, and installation of plant piping systems.
- Measure and prepare pipe for cutting, threading, welding, and installation.
- Install piping systems using appropriate clamps, supports, restraints, and connection methods.
- Support the installation of mechanical equipment and plant process components.
- Remove, repair, and replace worn or damaged piping and mechanical components.
Heavy Civil Construction
- Assist with structural concrete placement, formwork, site work, and building construction activities.
- Safely operate hand and power tools including saws, pipe threaders, torches, pipe benders, torque wrenches, and welding equipment.
- Read and follow construction drawings, specifications, and supervisor direction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Safety & Teamwork
- Follow Petticoat-Schmitt and OSHA safety standards at all times.
- Identify, report, and correct jobsite hazards.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and fellow crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently.

What We're Looking For
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in water/wastewater treatment plant construction, industrial pipefitting, or heavy civil plant construction required.
- Working knowledge of piping systems, joints, restraints, and fittings.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, piping layouts, and restraint joint charts.
- Experience using hand and power tools, torque wrenches, and welding equipment.
- Ability to perform construction math, measurements, and layout calculations.
- Strong communication skills and commitment to teamwork.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to climb in and out of trenches, structures, and elevated work areas.
- Ability to distinguish jobsite sounds including equipment alarms and verbal communication.
- Ability to wear required PPE including hard hat, eye protection, hearing protection, and high-visibility apparel.

Work Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- 40-hour workweek; overtime as required.
- Occasional Saturdays depending on project needs.
Location & Travel
- Base Office: Jacksonville, FL.
- Project Support Area: Projects located within approximately a 300-mile radius of Jacksonville.
- Travel: Occasional travel as required to support project needs.
