What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Technician position at Pettibone / Traverse Lift?
Primary responsibilities will include
- Supporting Continuous Improvement efforts to improve plant safety, ergonomics, quality, productivity, and morale
- Identifying potential Safety and Manufacturing issues, developing creative, custom solutions to address the issues and implementation of these solutions.
- Uses a variety of automated and handheld tools such as welders, cutting equipment, hoists, grinders, pneumatic tools, and measuring devices to fabricate fixtures consistent with Lean Manufacturing principles
- Provide fill-in support to the production and material distribution teams as required, based on demand and available resources.
- Perform basic facility maintenance as directed by Supervisor
- Provide assembly training as required
- Develop process documentation through the use of visual aids, written procedures and computer generated documents
- Maintains the work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition
- Performs other duties as assigned that supports the overall objective of the position
Skills/Experience
- Minimum 1 year as a permanent PTL Team Member.
- 5 years of experience in industrial Manufacturing.
- Must possess strong, problem-solving abilities and the openness to think outside of the box.
- Must possess a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
- Possess basic knowledge of the Safe operation and application of mechanical and fabrication tools and machinery.
- Working knowledge of simple electrical circuits, mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Possess the capacity to interpret basic Engineering drawings and schematics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to meet assigned task and Project schedules with minimum direct Supervision.
- Adaptability to rapidly changing priorities as required.
- Flexible to work Overtime as necessary.
