New England Territory | Field-Based Position
PMG is seeking an ambitious, outgoing professional ready to begin a career in outside sales and fuel distribution. As an Entry-Level Outside Sales Representative, you will receive training while developing relationships with gas station and convenience-store operators throughout New England. This field-based opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional who is self-motivated, enjoys meeting new people, and wants to build a rewarding sales career with uncapped earning potential. Previous fuel-industry experience is not required.
Internally the position title is Wholesale Fuel Sales Representative.
Responsibilities
- Learn PMG’s branded and unbranded fuel supply processes, including pricing, billing, credit, logistics, customer service, and account management.
- Identify prospective customers within the New England retail gas station and convenience-store market.
- Generate leads through cold calling, field canvassing, referrals, online research, networking, and business partnerships.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective wholesale fuel customers and supplied locations.
- Develop professional relationships with prospective and existing customers by learning about their businesses and understanding their needs.
- Assist with maintaining and growing PMG’s existing customer accounts and book of business.
- Learn about PMG’s branded fuel supply partners and their marketing programs.
- Stay informed about fuel brands, industry developments, market trends, and competitors.
- Work toward individual sales and new business development goals with coaching from sales leadership.
- Participate in customer visits, trade shows, association meetings, and other industry events as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience is a plus.
- 3 years of experience in sales with a focus on new business development and account management. Sales experience within the fuel supply industry preferred but not required.
- A positive, friendly, and professional approach when working with customers, suppliers, coworkers, and leadership.
- Strong motivation to learn, achieve goals, and develop new skills.
- Confidence communicating with people by phone, email, video, and in person.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn CRM and other business applications.
- Dependable, persistent, organized, energetic, and comfortable working independently.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned New England territory.
- Position will require very flexible hours including evenings and early mornings.
- Current residence within Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, or Maine is required.
