Petroleum Carriers has become one of the premier petroleum transport companies in the Mid-Atlantic. We strive to provide consistent and reliable transportation of petroleum products. We are currently seeking a full time Mechanic to join our Chesapeake, Virginia office.
The mechanic is responsible for the safety and efficiency of Petroleum Carriers tanker truck fleet. This role will perform the repairs and maintenance of the company's fleet of vehicles including heavy equipment, trucks and pickups, and includes trouble shooting, diagnosing, and performing safety inspections of equipment, and preparing DOT, company, and any other state/federal required documents.
The ideal candidate must be able to perform most repairs including:
> Preventive maintenance, brakes, clutches, diagnostic work and minor repairs
> Brake certification, clutch certification, and CDL are required
> Perform road tests
> Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations
Qualifications:
> 3 years of verifiable experience performing mechanic work is required
> Mechanic School Certification and/or ASE Certification
> Thorough knowledge of safe working practices
> Knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems, and DOT regulations governing safe driving, inspection and maintenance
> CDL Class A license

Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
