About the Role
At PetroLedger, our Lease & Title Analysts play a critical role in supporting accurate ownership records and lease obligations across oil and gas operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into complex documentation, ensuring data accuracy, and partnering with both clients and internal teams.
Lease & Title Analysts are responsible for reviewing and interpreting lease and title documentation, maintaining land system data, and supporting compliance with lease obligations. You’ll work closely with Land Administration, Division Order, and clients to ensure timely, accurate, and well-documented ownership records.
Key Responsibilities
Lease & Title Analysis
- Analyze and interpret oil & gas leases, mineral deeds, assignments, title opinions, and due diligence reports
- Determine ownership interests (net revenue, mineral, and working interest)
- Monitor and support compliance with lease obligations (delay rentals, shut-in payments, minimum royalties)
Land System Management
- Set up and maintain lease and title data within PetroLedger’s land systems
- Maintain organized physical and digital lease files
- Archive and deactivate expired or released leases and contracts
Ownership & Reporting
- Maintain and update ownership data based on title opinions and ownership reports
- Partner with Division Order and clients to verify ownership and documentation
- Prepare acreage inventories for developed and undeveloped leases as needed
Client & Internal Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally to resolve lease and ownership-related issues
- Support due diligence efforts for acquisitions and divestitures
- Interpret complex documentation (wills, deeds, heirship affidavits) and apply applicable laws
Communication & Compliance
- Build and maintain strong client and internal relationships
- Respond to inquiries with professionalism and attention to detail
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to process improvements within lease records and land systems
- Support additional initiatives and projects as assigned
What You Bring
- Strong understanding of oil & gas leases and contractual obligations
- Familiarity with mineral and working interest ownership structures
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities effectively
- Strong communication skills and a client-service mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and land systems/software
- Adaptability in both in-office and hybrid work environments
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3 years of experience in land administration, lease records, or title analysis
- Experience with land systems and lease management tools strongly preferred
