Come join a fun team at the Chevron Essential 1 in beautiful Homer, Alaska!
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Assist customers at the Chevron Essential 1 (formerly Petro Express) service station by providing friendly, professional customer service. Receive and process payment and give correct change for cash sales. At times, you will be required to dispense Propane.
2. Keep customer service areas in clean and safe condition.
3. Maintain inventory levels of products in station.
4. Other general station duties as needed.
Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age due to tobacco sales. Professional, courteous internal and external customer service skills, ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, and ability to operate station equipment including registers, phones, and gas pumps required. Possess ability to work well as part of a team and accept responsibility. Work overtime during busy season; handle stressful situations and multi-task.
Preferred that you already have current food worker's card, otherwise, have ability to secure food worker's card immediately upon hire.
Ability to pass training and commitment to comply with State requirements concerning tobacco sales.
Physical requirements:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods of time. Must be able to work around petroleum products, including fuel, motor oil, and propane gas. Also must be able to work around cleaning agents such as soap, general cleaning solutions, etc. Tasks involve unpacking freight, loading shelves, cleaning, bending, reaching, lifting, kneeling, standing, walking.
Ability to pass pre-employment drug test.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a service station, so you will be working around motor vehicle fluids, including gasoline, diesel fuel, lubricants, windshield wash, anti-freeze, etc., as well as food products that may contain common food allergens. You may be required to go in and out of the service station to assist customers, and thus be exposed to varying temperatures and weather conditions. You will be in contact with the general public on a continual basis throughout your shift.
