Petrillo & Goldberg Law is currently seeking an experienced NJ Personal Injury Lien Resolution Paralegal / Claims Specialist to join our team.
Role Overview:
This position is responsible for handling medical lien and subrogation resolution for personal injury settlements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and resolve Medicare, NJ Medicaid/DMAHS, and private health insurance liens.
- Conduct Medicare conditional-payment and Medicaid recovery searches.
- Identify ERISA vs. non-ERISA plans and applicable subrogation rights.
- Obtain payment ledgers, lien/demand figures, and final resolutions.
- Compare claimed payments with injury-related treatment.
- Maintain lien-resolution spreadsheets for each settlement.
- Communicate with Medicare, Medicaid, insurers, TPAs, and benefit plans.
- Assist attorneys with lien reduction negotiations.
- Obtain written final lien resolutions and releases prior to settlement disbursement.
Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with New Jersey personal injury settlements and medical lien/subrogation resolution is required.
- Strong background with Medicare, NJ Medicaid, and ERISA plans is strongly preferred.
