Petra Funds Group is seeking a JIB Analyst / Senior JIB Analyst to join our non-operated joint venture accounting team. In this role, you'll review joint interest billing statements for accuracy and compliance with joint operating agreements, reconcile JIB activity against internal records, and resolve billing discrepancies directly with operators and partners. You'll also monitor cash calls and AFE requests, perform well-level reconciliations, support external audits, and partner cross-functionally with Land, Treasury, and Revenue teams.

Responsibilities

• Review joint interest billing statements received from the operator to ensure accuracy and compliance with joint operating agreements (JOAs).
• Reconcile JIB statements with internal records and general ledger accounts.
• Analyze costs allocated by the operator to ensure they are reasonable, necessary, and in accordance with the JOA.
• Identify and investigate any discrepancies or unusual charges.
• Communicate with the operator and other joint venture partners to resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, and inquiries.
• Provide detailed explanations and support to internal stakeholders regarding JIB-related matters.
• Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to non-operated joint interest billings.
• Ensure proper documentation of all transactions and agreements related to non-operated joint ventures.
• Identify opportunities for improving joint interest billing processes and procedures.
• Monitor cash calls and Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) requests from the operator.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of cash calls; perform monthly well-level reconciliations.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the accounting system.
• Collaborate with Land, Treasury, and Revenue teams, as needed.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Oil and gas upstream industry experience
• Generally 3-5 years of upstream JIB/AP Experience
• Understanding of JIB and AP cycles
• Understanding of division orders and working interests
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• EnergyLink experience
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• OpenInvoice / JIBFlow experience
• Bolo experience preferred
• Able to think critically, communicate, multi-task, prioritize workload, and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
  
  

Salary RangeAt Petra Funds Group, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring practices. The compensation range for this position is $82,000 - $123,000 per year. This range represents the base salary only. Actual pay will depend on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills.
