Responsibilities
- Greet clients warmly, answer inquiries, and schedule appointments efficiently to ensure smooth clinic flow
- Handle medical collections accurately, including processing payments and insurance claims with attention to detail
- Maintain accurate patient records, update medical histories, and assist with filing and data entry tasks
- Manage phone calls professionally, providing information about services, procedures, and appointment availability
- Support veterinary staff by preparing exam rooms, sterilizing equipment using aseptic techniques, and assisting with animal restraint when needed
- Facilitate communication between pet owners and veterinary team members regarding treatment plans and follow-up care
- Assist with laboratory procedures such as sample collection or processing when necessary to support diagnostic efforts
Requirements
- Prior experience in veterinary reception or customer service within animal healthcare settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and restraint techniques to effectively support clinical activities
- Familiarity with pet care practices including pet grooming, dog training, and kennel experience enhances your ability to assist clients and animals effectively
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing medical records and laboratory documentation
- Ability to handle animals safely using animal husbandry principles and animal handling techniques across various species including dogs, cats, and horses if applicable
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with pet owners, team members, and external vendors
- Basic laboratory experience or familiarity with veterinary critical care procedures is a plus but not required
