Petit Clair is a growing children’s fashion brand known for timeless style, quality craftsmanship, and attention to detail. As a direct-to-consumer brand with a strong online presence and 8 retail locations, we are expanding our team and product development capabilities.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Product Designer to play a key role in bringing our products from concept through production. This role focuses on the technical execution and development of garments, ensuring all styles are clearly defined, accurately communicated to factories, and efficiently brought to life.

You will partner closely with the design and production teams while owning the development process end-to-end. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical side of apparel development and the hands-on process of working with factories to bring products to market.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Design & Execution

  • Create and maintain detailed tech packs, including specs, grading, BOMs, and construction details
  • Ensure all tech packs are accurate, complete, and ready for factory execution
  • Review designs and proactively identify any missing or unclear information prior to factory submission

Factory Communication & Follow-Up

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for factory communication
  • Send tech packs and ensure factories fully understand all technical details
  • Respond promptly to factory inquiries and provide clear direction on revisions and approvals
  • Communicate updates, corrections, and approvals effectively

Product Development Ownership

  • Own styles from tech pack through sample development and production readiness
  • Track all stages of development, including proto samples, fit samples, and approvals
  • Follow up consistently with factories to ensure timelines are met
  • Identify and resolve issues quickly to prevent delays

Fit & Quality Control

  • Participate in fittings and provide clear, actionable feedback to factories
  • Ensure garments meet brand standards for fit, quality, and construction
  • Maintain consistency across all styles and collections

PLM & Organization

  • Manage and track all styles within the PLM system
  • Ensure all updates, comments, and approvals are accurately recorded
  • Maintain clear and organized records of all development activity
  • Monitor timelines and ensure all milestones are met

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in technical design and/or apparel development
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, and production processes
  • Experience working with overseas factories
  • Proficiency in PLM systems, Excel, and Adobe Illustrator
  • Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $85,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
