This is a high-impact, in-office role ideal for someone who enjoys being in the details, working across accounting and inventory, and contributing to the financial clarity of a growing, inventory-driven business.
Position Overview
The Senior Accountant / Finance Lead will be responsible for supporting and managing core accounting functions, including accounts payable, reconciliations, inventory tracking, and financial reporting.
This role is best suited for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning the day-to-day accounting processes while working closely with leadership to provide visibility into business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Own day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and general ledger maintenance
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and support month-end close
- Assist in preparing monthly P&L statements and financial reports
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks
- Partner with external accountants on year-end close and tax preparation
Inventory & Cost Accounting
- Manage inventory tracking and reconciliation across systems
- Monitor cost of goods sold (COGS), including materials, shipping, and duties
- Support inventory valuation and ensure cost accuracy
- Analyze inventory levels relative to sales performance and margins
Financial Reporting & Business Support
- Support leadership with financial reporting and visibility into performance
- Track key business metrics, including seasonal trends and profitability
- Assist with budgeting and expense tracking across departments
Payroll & Compliance
- Process payroll and support new hire setup
- Assist with sales tax filings and compliance requirements
- Support administrative financial tasks, including vendor setup and documentation
Process Improvement
- Help improve and streamline accounting processes and workflows
- Maintain organized, scalable financial systems as the company grows
Qualifications
Required
- 4β8 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
- Hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting (AP/AR, reconciliations, close)
- Experience working in an inventory-driven business (retail, ecommerce, apparel, or CPG)
- Strong experience with QuickBooks
- Advanced Excel skills
- Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership
- Comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience in retail, ecommerce, or fashion environments
- Familiarity with inventory systems and multi-location tracking
- Experience supporting growing or small businesses
