What You Will Do
The Wellness trainer assists the licensed therapy staff in implementing treatment programs, as established by the licensed therapist to help clients reach maximum functional levels and independence following injury or illness. Monitors vital signs as needed. Performs general equipment and department maintenance. Reports any maintenance or safety issues as needed.
Assists to develop and facilitate the client’s individualized fitness plan. In addition, provides supervision and training for wellness clients. Assists with collecting and maintaining demographic information as well as attendance and progress records. Serves as instructor for wellness aquatic program.
Preferred Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Skills
Good interpersonal skills, basic organizational and time management skills. Basic knowledge and skills to care for the physical and development needs of the population age groups that will be receiving services. Basic computer skills.
Preferred Skills
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Required Licensure/Registration/Certification
CPR and Personal Trainer Certification
Required Experience
Experience with fitness training for wellness program
Preferred Experience
Experience working in a healthcare setting or geriatric population
