This position is Full-Time position working Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

What You Will Do
The Phone Triage Nurse, under general supervision, provides nursing triage services and health advice over the phone. Evaluates, assesses, and documents patients’ questions or concerns requiring good clinical judgment, careful listening and empathy, and critical thinking and assessment skills. Responsible for patient education related to new OB, surgery consents, and other patient education as directed by physicians and midwives. Carries out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization.
Required Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Required Skills
Knowledge of all activities associated with the delivery of quality nursing practices and duties assigned to this role. Skill in nursing practices within the scope of responsibilities assigned to this role. Skill in organization and efficiency. Effective computer and keyboarding skills. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple nursing activities simultaneously with frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment. Ability to have excellent attention to detail. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to handle competing priorities.
Preferred Technical Skills
EMR (electronic medical record) experience
Required Licensure /Registration /Certification
Current Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and current CPR
Required Experience
2 years previous experience in a medical office, hospital or case management setting. OB/GYN experience strongly preferred.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in working with database systems and telephone triage and scheduling experience.
