What You Will Do
The Occupational Therapist assesses patients, formulates a plan of care and provides direct patient care services in accordance with the law and state practice act. Services must be ordered by a physician or physician extenders. The Occupational Therapist also supervises and delegates appropriate functions to the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants or Rehab Technicians.
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
Preferred Education
Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy
Required Skills
Basic computer skills, good interpersonal skills, basic organizational and time management skills, basic knowledge and skills to care for the physical needs of the population served.
Required Licensure /Registration /Certification
Current Texas license as an Occupational Therapist and BLS
Preferred Licensure /Registration /Certification
Advanced skills/certifications in specialty areas, such as NDT, geriatric, orthopedics, pediatrics, etc.
Required Experience
Work/educational experience in the healthcare field
Preferred Experience
One year experience as an Occupational Therapist in a health care setting.
