The Warehouse supervisor at Oceana County Freezer Storage (OCFS) is responsible for pulling and maintaining control of the micro samples from the time they are pulled until scheduled to leave. Responsible pulling, organizing, and preparing all UPS/FedEx packages to be shipped.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, organize, supervise, and participate in daily warehouse operation and
activities, including the receipt, documentation, storage, safety, and distribution of
equipment and supplies and maintenance of inventory.
- Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned warehouse employees,
assign workloads to warehouse workers.
- Receive, unpack, pack, load, issue, store and deliver materials, textbooks,
supplies or equipment; complete packing slips for shipments as assigned.
- Route, schedule, pack and prepare orders for delivery; load vehicles; schedule and
oversee deliveries and pick-ups.
- Supervise the processing of requisitions and requests to invoice for
reimbursements of warehouse codes; complete requisitions for needed materials
to assure adequate stock levels.
- Prepare and maintain a variety of records and logs and prepare reports as
required; maintain inventory of items in the warehouse; file records as required; supervise the assembly of inventory printouts and catalogs as required.
- Monitor automated warehousing system; operate a computer to enter data, correct
errors and control key screens as required.
- Operate and demonstrate use of specialized warehouse equipment as necessary.
assure proper and routine maintenance and servicing of warehouse vehicles and
equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Must obtain and retain valid hi-lo license.
Work Experience
- One year warehouse experience desirable.
OR
- Six months material handling experience.
Skills and Knowledge
- Good visual and depth perception required.
- Good hand/eye coordination to maneuver hi-lo in tight areas.
- Ability to read, interpret and follow written job instructions.
- Ability to frequently lift/move product and material weighing up to 60 pounds.
- PC and keyboard/mouse skills required.
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)

ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- Subject to extreme cold (-16) for periods of time.
- Lifts material/product weighing up to 60 pounds, occasionally more (assistance given with heavier objects).
- Constant mental and visual attention required when operating equipment.
- Color vision may be required to perform quality function of position.
- Eye, hearing, hair nets, bump hats, lab coats may be required.
