OVERVIEW The purpose of this position is to lead and supervise production associates and attend and assist Managers in the day to day operations required to ensure efficient operations of production. Run and operate production and all equipment correctly and efficiently, making sure everyone is doing their job. Respond quickly to personnel issues and emergencies. Assist other in making production more efficient. Apply GMP and all plant rules and violations. Report deviations and problems within the plant to a manager. Make executive decisions, while working with the quality department to ensure a health and safe, quality product. RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTSCoordinate schedule changes and work with all level, including operations manager and support clerks to drive changes on the floor.Proper compliance with GMP and plant rulesProperly and legibly fill out daily production sheets and documentsVerify the amounts in the holding tanks and make loading instructions for the tankloads, accordingly.Verify all finished product and paperwork before shippingVerify that all production equipment is clean and sanitized before use.Fill out work orders for specific people to maintain the plant.Verify variety of product to runMonitor the amount and proper chemicals for each product to ensure a safe productVerify that all transfer lines within the plant are clean and sanitized before loadingsand unloading any product.Track and record the chemical inventory, and re-ordering when necessaryResponsible for e-mailings and/or faxing any documents needed for reference orverification purposes.Ensure all product supplies are on hand for all projectsWorking with the Production Supervisor daily to ensure production is runningsmoothlyResponsible for setting proper calibrations and coding within the plant.Receive reports of violations or problems and fix them.Work with the maintenance personnel to ensure all products are working properly tocreate a safe productMonitor all personnel and their daily assignmentsRelease product to the freezerMust follow and understand the HACCP program and implement it withinproduction.If unavailable tasks will be taken over by Production ManagerQUALIFICATIONSEducationHigh school graduate or equivalent preferredWork ExperienceOne year manufacturing experience desirableSkills and KnowledgeAbility to read, interpret and follow written job instructions.Ability to follow and comply with quality standards.Demonstrated ability to maintain integrity and privacy of confidential information.Ability to work well under pressure and quickly assess and respond appropriately to questions.Ability to comprehend and comply with GMP rules and Food Safety guidelines.Excellent attention to detail.Will be required to obtain and maintain valid hi-lo license.Ability to work as contributing member within the team.Ability to occasionally lift/move material weighing up to 50 pounds.Ability to operate a PC (keyboard/mouse).Supervisory ResponsibilitiesYesBEHAVIORAL REQUIREMENTSAs part of a team-based work environment, must be able to demonstrate the following Job Competencies:Job CompetenciesReliability/Dependability – Responds to internal customer needs, questions, and concerns in accurate and timely manner.
