What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator III- Night shift (Seasonal) position at Peterson Farms Inc?
Machine Operator III Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The Machine Operator III is responsible for the total operation and care of filling machines.
- Responsibilities include Preparing the Filler for startup by following startup procedure which include liaising with Batch maker and QA Technician to ensure timely startup.
- Giving breaks to the production line.
- Change the code date daily.
- Keeping Filler supplied with raw materials such as pouches, cups and lids while Filler is in operation. Follow the Downtime Procedure whenever the filler is down for any reason.
- Operate within safety and quality standards, good manufacturing practices (GMP’s) and adherence to job specifications.
- Ensure quality checks and procedures are complete.
- Responsible for reading, comprehending the job standards, packaging requirements, and meeting the quality standards and specifications for products (I.E.: coding, material, specs, etc.).
- Operates machine controls and minor adjustments while monitoring the line for proper operation.
- Closely monitoring production equipment for jams, making necessary adjustments.
- Able to quickly troubleshoot issues on equipment, resolve and keep production line moving.
- Work in a safe manner.
- Manually record data as required, charting necessary process adjustments based on data findings.
- Reports quality problems to Plant Management and SQFP to initiate action.
- Ensure Proper PPE is utilized, when performing CIP (Cleaning in Progress)
Education/Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management
- High School Diploma/GED
- Experience/Certification with powered lift equipment
- 3 years relevant manufacturing experience
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in basic English.

Physical Demands:
Standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, squatting, climbing, crawling, or sitting for long periods of time. Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work, including twisting and reaching. Climbing stairs, and/or vertical ladders of varying heights. Working in confined work areas and/or elevated heights. Lifting objects of minimum of 10lbs, with maximum single-person lift limit of 50lbs, with frequent lifting and carrying. Adapting to temperature changes, and prolonged exposure to wet, or hot, humid conditions, loud noises, and vibration. Visually inspecting equipment and verifying information, often in small print.
Work Environment:
Work is performed throughout the plant. Mobility to all areas of a multi-level facility. Requires exposure to temperature extremes, high noise levels, moving equipment, heights, wetness, fumes, vibrations, dust, etc.
