Peterson Cat is seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager to oversee our safety program across all California locations. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert guidance on safety matters and ensure compliance with government and industry regulations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee occupational safety in designated regions, implementing safety programs and ensuring compliance with government and industry standards.
- Maintain a safety presence by attending meetings, mandated training, and performing walk-around inspections.
- Monitor safety regulations and advise management on changes, integrating into business policies and procedures.
- Develop dynamic training programs to ensure operational safety readiness and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Provide guidance and technical advice to managers, supervisors, and field personnel.
- Assist in developing statistical accident/incident rate and severity information.
- Conduct comprehensive accident/injury investigations and work with employees, managers, and HR to coordinate incident response.
- Maintain facility emergency preparedness plans and conduct drills.
- Work with Managers and Safety Specialists to develop annual goals and support management objectives.
- Manage Peterson's safety management system (EHSInsight) and ensure timely completion of corrective actions and incidents.
- Calculate and publish safety metrics/reports, including Quarterly SPRs.
- Publish safety reports as needed for OEMs and executive leadership.
- Work with business units to establish effective incident reporting, investigation, and resolution processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or closely related field, with at least 5 years of directly related experience in a heavy industrial environment.
- Certified Safety Professional credentials preferred.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required.
