Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs in a friendly, professional manner
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately
- Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with precision
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits of merchandise to customers
- Upsell additional products or services to enhance customer satisfaction and store sales
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Assist with inventory management through stocking, merchandising, and inventory checks
- Support supervising staff in training new team members or overseeing daily operations when needed
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong supervisory experience or leadership skills in retail settings
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Excellent communication skills in person and over the phone; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Skilled in customer service with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Experience with grocery store operations or retail sales transactions preferred
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and product demos to engage customers effectively
- Ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining customer trust
