Overview
We are looking for a skilled and motivated New and Used Truck Upfitter to join our team. This position is responsible for installing and modifying equipment on new commercial trucks prior to delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding, power take-off (PTO) systems, hydraulic components, and vehicle electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
The technician position is a physically demanding position. You will stand six to eight hours per shift. Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and feel. Will use hand and power tools. Will lift parts weighing up to 70 pounds several times during each shift. Will use hoist and test equipment. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.

Key Responsibilities
- Install PTO systems, hydraulic components, lighting, and accessories on new trucks
- Perform fabrication and light welding (MIG/TIG) as needed for upfits
- Modify and route wiring for lights, controls, and aftermarket equipment
- Perform pre-delivery inspections and new truck inspections
- Interpret and follow upfit drawings, schematics, and build sheets
- Maintain a high standard of quality and safety in all installations
- Collaborate with sales and service teams to meet delivery timelines
- Document work performed and update tracking systems as needed
- Proven experience with truck upfitting or heavy-duty truck modifications
- Proficiency in welding (MIG/TIG)
- Working knowledge of PTO and hydraulic systems
- Basic to advanced automotive or equipment electrical skills
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and diagrams
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus but not required)
- Experience working with Peterbilt, Kenworth, or similar heavy-duty brands
- Formal training or certification in welding, hydraulics, or electrical systems
