Farmstand staff

Pete's Greens Farmstand serves the Craftsbury community with fresh organic Pete's Greens veggies plus wonderful products from other Vermont producers.

Our Farmstand is open 9 am - 7 pm every day, May to mid-October. We are hiring for our farmstand team. We are looking to hire for both weekday and weekend coverage.

Seasonal position - May 20 through October (other work may be available for a year-round position)

Hours - 24-35 weekly (we have some flexibility and additional hours).

Foremost we are looking for an individual who is knowledgable about veggies and understands vegetable quality. This person must be a licensed driver, restocking is done by driving down our long driveway from our farmstand van to load items from our production cooler. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys sales and customer service as this person will interact with our customers, however this is NOT a stand in front of a register job. Farmstand staff stock displays, constantly cull second quality veggies and cracking fruits from displays, stock, price and face product on shelves and in coolers keeping the farmstand shelves full, looking sharp, free from bad produce and complete with clear signage throughout the shift.

Farmstand staff must be dependable, hard-working, detail oriented, good humored, must possess good basic math skills, be attentive to quality, be a good communicator, be fit and capable of frequently lifting crates of vegetables 25-30 lbs and capable of lifting crates of up to 50 lbs less frequently. Ability to make and care for attractive vegetable and fruit displays and create and maintain clear signage to facilitate sales. An eye for balance in display, neat handwriting and a little bit of artistic ability go a long way in this department!
