- Perform alterations on a variety of garments, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing clothing to meet individual customer needs
- Use sewing machines proficiently to execute precise stitches and garment modifications
- Consult with customers to understand their alteration requests and provide professional recommendations
- Ensure all garments are constructed or altered according to quality standards and specifications
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and manage multiple projects efficiently
- Communicate clearly with customers about timelines, costs, and alteration options
- Assist in garment fitting sessions to ensure perfect adjustments and customer satisfaction
Experience
- Prior experience in fashion retail or a similar environment is required
- Strong sewing skills with the ability to operate sewing machines confidently
- Knowledge of garment construction techniques and fabric types
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to perform basic math for measurements, adjustments, and pricing calculations
- Familiarity with sewing tools, patterns, and alterations procedures is a plus
