SUMMARY
Responsible for administration of the Human Resources programs for approximately 130 employees in a food distribution and production facility. This includes responsibility for developing, interpreting, and recommending Human Resources programs, policies and procedures and courses of action. The incumbent has primary responsibility for labor and associate relations and administering them according to established guidelines and sound administrative practices.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivers training and development programs to improve organization capability and effectiveness.
- Develop a local workforce plan and local strategy to successfully recruit, develop and retain qualified candidates including sourcing temporary and contract positions..
- Ensure newly hired employees are on boarded and train to successfully perform their jobs in a safe manner.
- Assist plant management in the development of future leaders, succession planning, and effective workforce planning.
- Partners with Management Leadership Team to establish and maintain a positive and open employee culture.
- Execute all HR policies, practices and processes to ensure legal compliance with regulatory standards and legal obligations governing employee practices, labor laws, audits and charges from regulatory agencies like EEOC and other state/local agencies.
- Execute proactive labor relations and positive employee relations strategies that maintain workforce stability and ensures a highly engaged work environment.
- Supports and coaches all plant leaders in the administration of work rules, policies and practices.
- Supports the execution of all human capital processes at the plant. Ensures that performance management processes are effectively used by managers to grow and develop their employees.
- Leverage recognition programs and manage and execute local incentives which drive an innovative high performance culture.
- Manages and maintains Payroll and timekeeping functions.
- Manages worker’s compensation and unemployment claims.
- Manages benefits: enrollments and employee education.
- Support Senior leadership team to implement organization changes that improve individual and business performance
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from four-year College or university required.
- PHR , SPHR, or AIRS certification a plus
- Bi-Lingual: Spanish/English or French/English a plus
- Experience with ADP payroll systems preferred
- Knowledge of both federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Must have up-to-date knowledge and understanding of human resources and employment practices (selection, interviewing, job evaluations, contract administration, etc.)
- Minimum 8 years direct HR experience required, including a minimum of 5 years in an HR Manager role.
- Experience in human resources function in a distribution environment, preferably in the food industry
- Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle information in a confidential manner
- Must be willing to work flexible hours when needed, which includes some holidays and weekends.
