The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is a licensed healthcare professional whoprovides skilled occupational therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).Responsibilities:Assists with patient transport and transfers.The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) performs assigned non-patient care duties and patient care duties under the direct supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).Assists registered therapists in routine treatment of rehabilitation, acute or outpatients in assigned discipline(s). Does not interpret orders, evaluate patients, or develop treatment programs. Performs patient related tasks assigned by therapistLifts patients to/from mats, treatment and tilt tables, wheelchairs and other equipment appropriate to the facility/departmentAssists patients with transfer activities to all surfacesAssists patients in donning/doffing all appliances specific to the facility/departmentPositions patients in parallel bars and prepares patients for standing with appropriate orthotic/prosthetic devices and equipmentTransports patients to/from therapy as neededAssists therapist with other patient related treatment activities as appropriate and providing equipmentAssist with patient related activities including equipment set-up and patient positioning in preparation for therapy session as outlined in the State PracticeOther duties as assignedQualifications: Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in this state.Must possess an Associate degree from an accredited program conferring the title of Occupational Therapist Assistant. Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills; demonstrated maturity and responsibility.Current BCLS Card (AHA) and maintain active status.If you meet the qualifications above, please apply now.
