About the company:

The company is a provider of specialty PET packaging products for the beverage market – particularly large containers (10 – 30 liters) for beer, wine, and water. We use high quality, industry standard machinery to provide injection molded and blow molded components around the world.

Function:

Based in Fairfield, California (Cordelia) the Blow Mold Technician will be responsible for developing processes & providing technical support to local manufacturing needs and other sites within the company outlook, including visits to customer sites. This position requires strong technical knowledge specific to the blow molding process, machine functions, mechanical aptitude & ownership over projects/deadlines. The successful candidate will be a self starter, comfortable traveling independently around the USA, Mexico, Latin America & South America. The candidate will be expected to travel approximately 50% of the time. Flights, Hotels, Transportation & Meal stipend will be provided by company.

This position reports to the Head of Technical Support

Responsibilities:

- Completing start-up, shut-down, efficiency & troubleshooting processes

- Ensuring that quality standards are achieved on the line , which may involve process changes and perform some quality controls specific to the product

- Clear communication between departments & front facing customer interaction

- Independent travel capability, including booking all necessary itineraries with the company agent

- Support other company sites and customers through email, text & phone support

- Build process sheets, troubleshooting guides & training programs

- Lead efficiency targets by utilizing current assets and suggesting improvements

- Retain a clean criminal history, as visa's may be required for some countries

- Other tasks may be assigned in low seasons

Skills & experience:

- Bilingual in English & Spanish is preferred
- Advanced experience in Blow Mold processing is required (5 years) & PET molding experience is preferred
- Strong technical aptitude, troubleshooting machine movements, process screens, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, & electrical systems
- Blueprint & electrical schematic proficiency is required
- Machine assembly & utility routing is preferred
- Experience as a traveling technician is preferred

Education

High School Diploma or GED
Technical Schooling is preferred
