Summary
We are seeking a Sales Associate to join our team at Pet Wants: The Urban Feed Store. This role is vital in providing exceptional customer service and promoting our high-quality pet food products. Located in a vibrant community, you will play a key role in helping pet owners make informed choices for their beloved companions.
Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service to enhance the shopping experience.
- Assist customers in selecting the right products for their pets' nutritional needs.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently using the cash register.
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked sales floor to ensure product availability.
- Educate customers about the benefits of our Pet Wants Dry Food and other core product offerings.
- Support inventory management by restocking shelves and managing stock levels.
- Complete weekly and monthly cleaning tasks in the front and back of house.
- Engage with customers in person and over the phone with professional etiquette and assistance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail or customer service roles is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for 5-8 hours is a must.
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Evenings, weekends, and holidays availability is required.
*Working events at Farmers Markets, Craft Vendor Markets, and Holiday Markets will consist of driving booth and materials to event locations, set-up/break-down, managing the booth at events, and most importantly engaging our 2 & 4-legged customers.
*Pet Wants makes a variety of housemade products for pets such as beef jerky, pawtato chips, beef stew, CBD, and apothecaries. All Sales Associates are required to assist in the packaging of these items.
