Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, supervise, and inspire the store team; oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development.
- Build a strong learning culture through coaching, feedback, and continuous development.
Store Operations
- Oversee daily store operations, ensuring smooth flow across sales floors, stockrooms, and administrative functions.
- Ensure compliance with all operational policies and procedures including animal care, safety, cleanliness, and security.
- Create and manage weekly schedules to maintain optimal staffing during peak and non-peak hours.
- Achieve excellent store audit scores and maintain high levels of neighbor engagement.
Business Performance
- Use strong business acumen to impact key results such as sales (including grooming & services), loyalty membership, neighbor engagement, and budget performance.
- Drive sales through smart merchandising, promotional execution, and personalized engagement strategies.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing to ensure top product availability.
Customer Experience
- Deliver exceptional customer (neighbor) service by addressing inquiries with professionalism and warmth.
- Handle POS transactions, cash management, and register balancing accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and brand-aligned store environment.
Community Engagement
- Build strong local partnerships and coordinate community events such as adoption days and neighborhood promotions.
- Support in-store marketing programs and boost community involvement.
PAWsome Skills & Qualifications
- 4 years of experience leading retail teams
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication skills
- Ability to operate store equipment, including a walk-behind forklift; must be able to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexible schedule availability, reliable transportation, and ability to pass drug & background screenings
- 18 years of age or older
- Experience with payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling, and POS systems
- Strong leadership skills and proven success in retail operations

Pay: $40,000.00 - $44,000.00 per year
