Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and experience in grooming various breeds of dogs and cats. This role involves providing high-quality grooming services while ensuring the comfort and safety of pets. The Pet Groomer will work closely with pet owners to understand their grooming needs and preferences.
Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for dogs and cats.
- Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, providing recommendations for care.
- Handle pets safely and effectively during grooming sessions, ensuring their comfort throughout the process.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, adhering to hygiene standards.
- Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ grooming needs and any health concerns observed during grooming.
- Provide additional services such as ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and de-shedding treatments as needed.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians or assistants when necessary for any health-related issues.
- Assist in heavy lifting of larger pets when required.
Qualifications
- Must have previous experience (minimum 5 years) in pet grooming or related fields such as kennel work, veterinary assistance, or animal handling is preferred.
- Knowledge of dog and cat handling techniques and behavior is essential; experience in dog training is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed when handling larger animals.
- A compassionate attitude towards animals with a commitment to their well-being.
- Certification in pet grooming or related qualifications is a plus but not required.
