Pet Supplies Plus is looking for a passionate and dedicated Manager to help lead our team and provide an outstanding shopping experience for pet parents and their furry friends. In this role, you will be responsible for managing daily operations, driving sales, ensuring a positive work environment, and creating a neighborhood feel that Pet Supplies Plus is known for.
The ideal candidate will have a love for pets, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering the friendly, knowledgeable service that makes Pet Supplies Plus a trusted name in pet care.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead by example to create a positive and professional environment in line with the Pet Supplies Plus brand.
- Train, mentor, and motivate team members to provide exceptional neighbor (customer) service and achieve sales goals.
- Delegate tasks, and manage daily shift operations efficiently.
- Provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback to help team members grow and develop.
Neighbor Engagement & Customer Service:
- Ensure all neighbors (customers) receive friendly, knowledgeable service and leave the store with solutions for their pet care needs.
- Resolve neighbor inquiries, complaints, and special requests with professionalism and empathy.
- Promote Pet Supplies Plus loyalty programs and current promotions to enhance the customer experience.
Operational Oversight:
- Ensure that the store opens and closes according to Pet Supplies Plus standards and guidelines.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure shelves are fully stocked and properly faced.
- Process incoming shipments and oversee product rotation to maintain fresh stock (FIFO).
- Ensure that daily checklists, cleaning schedules, and safety protocols are followed.
- Handle cash management, including daily deposits and ensuring store security protocols are in place.
Sales & Business Growth:
- Drive sales by promoting current promotions, upselling, and cross-selling products.
- Identify opportunities for sales growth and implement action plans to improve store performance.
- Analyze store performance metrics and report results to leadership.
Pet Care & Product Knowledge:
- Stay updated on pet care trends and product knowledge to effectively assist neighbors with their pet needs.
- Ensure that live animal care standards are maintained, if applicable.
- Educate team members on Pet Supplies Plus products and services to improve the customer experience.
Requirements:
- Previous retail or management experience, preferably in the pet industry or customer service sector.
- Passion for pets and a commitment to delivering excellent service to neighbors.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 50 lbs.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
