Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Animal Care Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals and possess knowledge in various animal care fields such as kennel management, veterinary assistance, and pet grooming.
Responsibilities:
- Provide care and support to animals
– Assist with animal handling, including restraining and moving animals as needed
- Monitor and record the behavior of animals
- Administer medications as directed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of animal care areas
- Provide care and support for pets in a professional and compassionate manner
- Monitor the health and well-being of pets under your care
- Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of pet care areas
- Maintain accurate records of pet care activities and any observations or concerns
-Playing and interacting with dogs/cats and monitoring play
-Cleaning kennels
-Feeding animals when needed
-Mopping play areas
-Writing report cards for pet guests
- Ability to handle pets with patience, kindness, and confidence
- Attention to detail to ensure the safety and well-being of pets
- Physical stamina to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments
Requirements:
- must be 18 yrs or older to apply
- must love all animals and understand animal behavior
- must be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time
- must be able to clean kennels
- must be able to handle all size, temperaments and breeds of dogs
- must work well with others and have a positive attitude
- must be able to work ALL holidays and weekends, including Sundays.
- must be able to work morning (6:30 am) and afternoon (12-7:30/8:00 PM) shifts
- must be able to mop large areas
- must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and not have any physical or mental ailments that may impede your ability to perform this job.
- must be able to pass a background check and drug test
