Duties
- Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, cleaning kennels, and administering medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Handle dogs and other pets with confidence, ensuring proper restraint and safety protocols are followed at all times
- Perform pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to maintain pet hygiene and comfort
- Engage in pet sitting duties, offering companionship and monitoring pets’ health during their stay or visit
- Maintain detailed records of each animal’s care, behavior, and medical needs while ensuring cleanliness and organization of kennels and prep areas.
- Provide stellar customer service to pet parents utilizing our services by checking clients in and out and booking appointments as needed and answering client questions.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with animals in a kennel, veterinary clinic, or pet grooming environment is highly preferred
- Ability to be punctual on a regular basis as the animals and kennel team rely on you for smooth daily operation
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to safely restrain dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary procedures is a plus
- Experience in pet grooming, pet sitting or as a veterinary assistant enhances your candidacy...perfect for a future Veterinary Student
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large animals or supplies
