- Greet clients warmly, assist with appointment scheduling, and manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently
- Handle medical billing, collections, and processing of payments with accuracy and professionalism
- Maintain detailed records of pet histories, treatments, and laboratory results using veterinary software systems
- Communicate effectively with veterinary staff regarding patient care, treatment plans, and follow-up needs
- Assist with kennel management tasks such as animal husbandry, feeding, cleaning, and monitoring during boarding or recovery periods
- Support veterinary team members with animal restraint, handling, and basic animal care procedures when needed
- Facilitate laboratory sample collection and processing, ensuring proper aseptic techniques are followed for accurate results
- Manage inventory of pet care supplies, grooming products, and medical equipment to ensure readiness for daily operations
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries about pet health, grooming services, or training programs
- Proven experience as a veterinary receptionist or in a similar client-facing role within a veterinary setting
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, restraint techniques, and pet care best practices
- Excellent communication skills to clearly convey information to clients and team members
- Ability to handle animals safely using dog handling skills and animal restraint techniques
- Competence in medical collections, laboratory procedures, and understanding aseptic techniques for sample handling
- Familiarity with kennel management, animal husbandry, and pet grooming practices is highly desirable
- Experience with veterinary critical care procedures or equine care is a plus but not required
- Proficiency in managing pet records accurately while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards
