Duties
- Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping for dogs and other small animals
- Handle animals with care, ensuring safe restraint and comfort during grooming procedures
- Utilize your knowledge of animal behavior to manage pet handling effectively and reduce stress
- Assist with pet care routines such as cleaning ears, expressing glands, and applying treatments when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming stations and equipment to uphold health standards
- Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding grooming preferences, special needs, or health concerns
- Support veterinary staff with basic animal handling tasks if needed, including dog training or veterinary assistance
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a groomer with a strong background in pet grooming and animal handling
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary procedures is highly desirable
- Experience working with veterinary technicians or assistants is a plus
- Familiarity with animal restraint methods, pet sitting, kennel work, and heavy lifting required for handling larger animals
- Excellent customer service skills to build trust with pet owners and provide outstanding care
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
