Job Title (Position): Weld Production QC Inspector
Reports To: QC Manager – Welding/ASME Code Compliance
Classification: Hourly (non-exempt)

Job/Position Summary :
Follow production throughout the welding process.
Duties and Responsibilities
Verification and/or documentation of the following:
Correct design drawings.
Correct materials- Specification, Grade, Size, Thickness.
Raw Materials Inspection for Discontinuities- Pitting, Laminations, Out-of-Roundness (pipe).
Correct dimensional requirements-Cut dimensions, Cylinder Roundness,
Layout, Placement of Internals.
Minimum Thickness of Shells, Heads.
Correct Weld Procedures and Verification of Welders Qualifications.
Deposited Weld Requirements- Sizes, Quality “Visual Acceptance”.
Physical Requirements
Lifting 45 lbs. from floor to waist
Lifting 45 lbs. from waist to shoulder
Lift 45 lbs. over head
Lift, carrying, pushing and/or pulling 45 lbs.
Bending 20 times or more per day
Hold or carry 10 lbs. 67% - 100% of the time.
Good physical condition and strength
Able to work in a confined space.
Qualifications (knowledge, skills, and ability requirements)
Customer Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service. Maintain a friendly, helpful attitude towards employees, customers, and visitors. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Working knowledge of pressure vessel, pressure piping production processes and procedures and welding processes.
Comprehension of production drawings and specifications.
Good communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Qualifications: “Cont.”
Ability to organize and complete required documents on time.
Ability to assist in problem solving.
Ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications (not required)
5-Years minimum welding-production experience.
Previous quality inspection/assurance experience.
Previous leadership experience.
Standard Working Hours and Conditions
Hours: Night Shift (4:15PM—2:00AM)
Days : Monday – Friday (some weekends – varies per production)
Environment : Inside/Outside working in temperature extremes or adverse weather conditions and temperatures. A fast-paced environment. Primarily inside
