As a Gate Clerk, you'll play a key part in maintaining security, facilitating efficient logistics, and supporting overall warehouse distribution processes. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help keep our operations running seamlessly while providing excellent service to all visitors, carriers, and team members. Duties
- Control access to the facility and yard by verifying credentials for employees, visitors, contractors, and carriers
- Process inbound and outbound shipments using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners to ensure accurate tracking
- Assist with shipping & receiving tasks, including load & unload operations and order fulfillment support
- Support warehouse distribution activities such as stocking, order picking, packing, and order picker tasks
- Operate equipment like pallet jacks and reach trucks safely to move pallets and materials efficiently
- Maintain detailed logs of all gate activities, inbound/outbound shipments, and incident reports
- Collaborate with warehouse staff on inventory management using systems like MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and AS400 for order processing and stock control
Qualifications
- Prior warehouse experience is highly preferred, with familiarity in warehouse distribution environments
- Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners safely (certification preferred)
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400, and MRP software is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for verifying shipments and maintaining records
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and external carriers
- Physical ability to stand, walk, load/unload shipments, and operate equipment throughout shifts
