We are seeking an experienced Lead Civil Engineer to take on a leadership role within our Australian Engineering business. This position is ideal for a senior professional civil engineer who is passionate about technical excellence, people leadership, and shaping the future of a high-performing civil engineering offering.
The Role
As the Lead Civil Engineer, you will provide technical stewardship of the Civil team, while playing a key role in team leadership, project delivery, client engagement, and strategic growth. You will work across a diverse portfolio of projects spanning mining, energy, utilities, industrial, and infrastructure, contributing to both day-to-day delivery and longer-term market positioning.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing technical leadership and governance for the Civil Engineering discipline
Leading, mentoring, and increasing the capacity and capability of the Civil team
Ensuring project delivery excellence, from concept through to construction
Supporting and leading market-facing activities, including client engagement, bids, and business development
Contributing to strategic planning and growth of the civil engineering offering
Ensuring quality, safety, and compliance across all civil deliverables
About You
You are a senior civil engineer with a strong technical foundation and a proven ability to lead people and projects in complex environments.
You will bring:
10 years’ experience in civil engineering
Demonstrated experience in team leadership and/or project management roles
Strong technical capability across civil design disciplines, including:
Earthworks,
Drainage and stormwater,
Roads and pavements,
Utilities and associated infrastructure
Experience delivering projects across sectors such as mining, energy, utilities, industrial, and infrastructure
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a market-facing mindset
A strategic outlook, with the ability to balance technical detail and big-picture thinking
