Tax Associate
Pay: $65,000-$90,000 annually (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Location: Loveland, CO (In-office)
Reports To: Director of Operations
Perspective Wealth Advisors is seeking a Tax Associate to support our growing tax practice. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tax preparation, working directly with clients, and continuing to develop their technical tax expertise.
As part of our team, you'll prepare tax returns, coordinate with clients, support tax planning initiatives, and work alongside financial advisors to deliver an integrated client experience.
What We're Looking For
- Experience preparing individual tax returns (1040s)
- Strong understanding of individual income tax concepts
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Comfortable learning new technology and systems
- Desire to learn and grow professionally
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, EA, or actively pursuing one
- Experience in a CPA firm or tax practice
- Experience with tax planning
- Familiarity with tax software and workflow systems
Key Responsibilities
Tax Preparation & Client Service
- Prepare individual tax returns for CPA review
- Analyze tax documents and identify missing information
- Communicate with clients regarding tax questions and document requests
- Prepare extensions, estimated tax payments, and state filings
- Assist with tax notices and resolution matters
- Ensure returns are completed accurately and on time
Client Coordination & Workflow Management
- Manage tax client onboarding and document collection
- Review incoming documents for completeness and accuracy
- Track return progress and follow up on outstanding items
- Manage e-file processes and filing confirmations
- Maintain organized client records and workflow systems
Tax Planning Support
- Assist with tax planning deliverables and client projects
- Identify planning opportunities for CPA review
- Participate in client meetings when appropriate
